I was a country boy from the hills of Eldorado, A small town of less than 400 people called Shingle Springs. Raised on a poor ranch, I learned a little of everything but grew up quite naïve. At 33, I went to prison for murder and served 25 years. The first seven are knuckleheads. I slowly learned I needed to be the difference I wanted to see in the world. My motto became, “DO the next right thing because it’s the right thing to do and for no other reason. I was paroled on February 17th, 2015. On July 23rd, I arrived at the PREP office, found a family, and started volunteering. I was Sister Mary’s DO Boy. I now live In Oklahoma with 4 donkeys, 21 pigs and a bunch of dogs, cats, chickens and ducks. I still volunteer online, and I treasure my freedom and PREP family. Life is grand if your goal is to make a difference, especially if you have an awesome woman at your side.
